The Value Economy

Announcing a new book, coming soon.

We are excited to announce a new forthcoming edited collection: The Value Economy: Sites, Objects, Conflicts, edited by Kristin Asdal and Liliana Doganova. The book will be published later this year.

Through a rich series of empirical case studies, this book ventures into ‘the value economy’, understood as one of the worlds produced by valuation practices. Across 17 chapters and 23 authors, the book asks: what happens when the question of value is reopened? How do encounters between different versions of value and conflicting procedures of valuation play out? By which tools and techniques are nature, bodies and life made valuable and brought into business practices and economic policy programmes? And in which sites and through which interlinked ecologies of procedures can these be empirically and analytically grasped?
